A new exciting project with Barnardos...

We first developed the Cystic Fibrosis Forum project idea through existing links with Barnardos.

We met with Carol Butler, Children's Services Manager at Barnardos Mosiac and were immediately struck with how far reaching their work was and how many groups of people they worked with and helped.

The idea for the forum was born out of learning more and more about Cystic Fibrosis and being struck by the nature of the illness and the social impact the condition has in the sense that sufferers are not able to meet directly.

From initial conversations we developed an idea along side Barnardos to use the internet as a way of connecting young people with Cystic Fibrosis. Through Barnardos we contacted young people to see whether this project would be something they would like to be involved in, from the response, we formed a great, responsive and passionate steering group.

The group helped to shape the idea into a forum where young people with Cystic Fibrosis could communicate in a Facebook style but also develop creative projects. To broaden the scope of the project we also used the model to support young people with life-limiting Epilepsy to connect and create films and projects together.

Then, let the fundraising commence!
