The Deal
Campaign Me was a multi media project produced by 22 young people with disabilities from Percy Hedley Foundation taking a tongue and cheek look at politics.
How it worked
The Mediabox funded project saw the group elect a youth prime minister whose focus was on disability issues and produce ballot cards, leaflets and posters to support their campaigns. Their final film, Sabotage, was a light-hearted look at the campaigning process and the lengths politicians will go to, to be elected.
Did it end up on the Cutting Room Floor?
There was a fabulous premiere for cast, crew and staff at the Percy Hedley Foundation.
Why was it great?
The participants came up with amazing (and quite naughty!) ideas which kept us laughing for days!
Say What?
Working with the young people at Percy Hedley was so rewarding - they had strong views about the films they wanted to make and it opened my eyes to the issues they face. They were some of the most enthusiastic and dedicated young people I have worked with and always had a smile for us - which make up for all the time they spent taking the mickey out of my haircut!
